Description

The Wolf's Cave Nebula, also known as VDB 152 or Ced 201, is a **blue reflection nebula** located at the tip of the long dark nebula Barnard 175 in a dusty complex that has also been called Wolf's Cave. It is situated in the constellation Cepheus and is nearly **1,400 light-years away** from us along the northern Milky Way. The nebula is characterized by its blue color, which is caused by pockets of interstellar dust in the region blocking light from background stars or scattering light from the embedded bright star. Ultraviolet light from the star is also thought to cause a dim reddish luminescence in the nebular dust. The Wolf's Cave Nebula is part of a larger nebula complex containing emission, reflection, and dark nebulosity known as Sh2-155
